printing documents issue. problem solved :)

Open up printer properties on one of the two computers that do it correctly and your laptop at the same time. I believe your issue is in one of the advanced printer preference settings.

1. In the printer properties settings under the advanced tab, I assume both will have enable advanced printing feature checked.

2. Select printing preferences and compare all the tabs to ensure the settings are all the same. Do not view the advanced tabs yet. Just make sure everything is the same in general.

3. Now, starting with the layout tab, click on advanced, and compare the settings.

4. Finally, click on paper quality tab, select advanced, and compare those settings.

So if you have the letter size set to 14, it prints at 12 ?

If so, set the size to 16

This might just make another problem as it will assume you now need two pages to print the document..

even though it sounds logically I can't do that because I need to print 65 labels on one page

Definitely sounds like a driver problem then. Does it happen with other word/pdf documents as well, or just this specific document? Which printer are you using, and which operating system? PCL5, PCL6 or Postscript drivers?

It happens with every document I have, Word or PDF.

It's Windows 7.

And there are two printers, HP LaserJet 1020 at my job and HP laserJet P1102 at home. The P1102 is the new printer we bought.

I already deleted all printers/drivers, installed them again and nothing happened... But I don't know about "PCL5, PCL6 or Postscript drivers" I run the HP checkup and it installed me drivers for 1020 but for the new 1102 it installs everything itself

In US and Canada, the normal size paper is called "letter". In Europe and International the normal size is "A4" which is metric. It is measured in metric. It is 210 millimeters wide and 297 millimeters long. This is about the size of US letter, but it is a little narrower, and a little longer. Just enough size difference to drive you insane.

I assumed this was your issue but it could have been a few other issues as well, hence my thought process on covering all of it. I wanted to keep it simple for you. So I was on the right path, it was an advanced layout option, "paper size".

To make it stick, right click on printer>properties>printing defaults>layout tab>advanced>paper size>select A4>select OK>select apply>done.

I wish I knew photography like I know computer technology.

well, I didn't know about this. i bought the laptop a few years ago in USA and haven't printed anything with it until now.
Now I'm a bit smarter because I learned something thanks to you.

Glad it is sorted. I hope I didn't imply you are a noob on computers, sometimes it is the simplest of things is all. I did a motherboard repair recently and got it all back together and it wouldn't turn on, I fumbled around for 10 minutes only to realize I forgot to flip the on/off switch back on. [emoji21]
