Printing: DPI vs PPI

I see a lot of people saying DPI when I think they mean PPI. I came across something on google that explained the differences:

Very good link, thank you for sharing. I had always assumed the 2 terms were interchangable. Clearly that isn't the case. I have never dealt with printing though ;-) Useful to know though

It is also worth noting that there is a very finite limit to the amount of PPI your printer can handle. If your source image has too high a PPI, the printer will begin to dump pixels randomly.
