Problem with B+W CPL XS Pro nano high end filter - it is a junk

Hello,

I bought new circular polarizer from B+W. In fact I changed it to it from the slim version B+W because of not fitting cap. But the nano version is very bad quality, not flat glass, strange reflections, wrinkles on the surface. Like a cheap china product while it is one of most expensive fiters on the market. I made video showing all the problems:



It seems that legendary quality of B+W is only the legend now. I'm going to return it to shop and buy Marumi.
Does have anybody similar problems with B+W?

I've seen some fake B+W filters on eBay but I've never had a problem with the few that I've bought
But I've never bought the nano version

Just curious, how long have you been a Marumi sales rep?

@robbins.photo - The video is not manipulated, it shows exactly what I can see. I spent a lot for the B+W expecting highest quality so I'm frustrated getting something like this. It has nothing to Marumi sales rep. I basically have my 2nd filter from Marumi that is why I used it for comparison. I have also very old Soviet polarizer. I will check it maybe it is also better than the B+W.

Well just found the whole thing extremely odd - I mean, this is your first post to the forum, the video doesn't look like something somebody did in their spare time, and you go so far as to mention a specific manufacturer as an alternative?

Sorry, but the whole thing seems highly suspect at best.

Can you take the B+W back, and check it against other ones. Or use the slim B+W that you have.

I've never used a Marumi, nor heard of it until now. But they apparently make good price/cost filters.
I also have a few Heliopans which are good.

Don't disagree but the video sort of aroused my suspicion, could just be my natural paranoia, working fraud detection for a living will do that to you. Also had it just been a rant about b+w I guess that would be one thing, just found it extremely odd that he mentions a specific alternative by name. When combined with what doesn't look at all with the sort of video that most hobbyists would create for YouTube and honestly it seems very fishy too me.

I've got a B+W Zirkular-Polfilter Käsemann F-Pro MRC DH 77mm. I'll do that same test you did with a flashlight to see what i get.

Thank you Hamlet. I sent that to B+W and asked if it is normal. Waiting for answer.
My another B+W 49 F-Pro also doesn't do that.

I have 3x B+W CPLs (thin, standard and different sizes) and have not had any issues with them. I also have a couple of Hoya Pro Series and they seem to be fine also.

According to Lenstips.com, the Marumi CPL is quite good (Rate #1 together with the B+W but cost a lot less)
