Purple Finches in the Snow

[PixelRabbit]

I wonder if they are thinking they left the warm south a liiiiiittle too early this year

I really like catching the birds in poses that show off their back and wings, those are so often their most beautiful features!

I wish she was a little closer to him so there wasn't that vast distance, it made it tricky to find a comfortable crop for both of them.

You might want to adjust your white balance, they look red to me.

I like the first, personally. The coloring of the second one just fades into the background

[bc_steve]

the colour really stands out in the first one

I like both of these, but the second is my favorite. It has a painterly feel to it. It reminds me of a vintage wall paper print, and I mean that in a good way.

Ummm, purple finches are red. The ornithologist who originally named them must have been color blind.
