My fan on my laptop (toshiba) refuses to work. The fan itself functions, as it turns on when the computer turns on for a few seconds, but after that it never does, and the comp. can get VERY hot to the touch - even with a laptop cooling pad.
My guess is that the fan sensor is broken so it's never being told to go on. Does anyone know how to test the sensor, or a way to manually turn the fan on?
I tried with speedfan.exe, but that doesn't work
edit: Also, nothing in the bios related to the fan or cooling the system.
