question about pushing film

Here is the deal, I shot on fuji 64T, rated it at 100, now, I have shot velvia 50 rated at 100 and pushed it one stop but, what amount or fraction of a stop should I push the 64T? is it a whole stop?

An increase of 1 stop is to double things so twice 64ISO = 125ISO therefore:
An increase of 1/2 stop = 64 + 64/2 = 64 + 32 = 98ISO
An increase of 2/3 = 64 + (64/3 x2) = 64 + 21 + 21 = 106ISO

Not much in it but that is how you do it.

i was wondering where that number came from, so would it be better to go over the iso the film is at (100 if im reading this right) bc 1/2 is closer to 100 otherwise

1/2 or 2/3 of a stop doesn't make much difference to most labs. You'll be lucky if they can accurately push it one stop, let alone fractions of a stop.
