Curious to what you guys think about busy backgrounds. Below is a picture of a cattle egret coming into land but in the frame there is also a lot going on, had the little one with the fancy hair do been the only other one in the frame then that could have possibly been a wow picture………..so my question is do the other birds in the frame add to the picture or just make it too busy?

In nature photography, you get whatever the subject gives you. You could always blur the background if you wish.

I agree with Jeff15. You can conceivably do post processing to remove the other birds, especially if you use AI, but it is nature photography, so you will have shots like this. When I am faced with a situation like this, I'll try to get as much as I can in the shot and then crop, but with a moving subject that isn't always feasible. It's a nice shot.
