what program do i need to make pics like this?

i have microsoft digital suite anniversary edition editor, can i use this or do i need something else?

i already know to take two pics without moving the cam, one with hood up one with hood down but i can't figure out how do get this effect.

Well, you can certainly do this in Photoshop, but I don't know what lower cost alternatives are available.

You will probably need a program that supports layers. You take two photo and then 'layer' them on top of one another in your editor. Then you erase or mask off the parts of the layer that you want to hide. In this case, you might put the engine shot under the hood shot, then erase/mask the hood where you want the engine to show.

You can get the Gimp as well, if you don't want to spring for the cost of Photoshop.

Gimp is free and works great.
