The drive up/down was one of the scariest rides I've ever taken.

So I could not resist and watched a bit. The thing is, the scariest part of the real ride up there is the vans that come at you on their way down forcing you to the edge of the outside of the road when you're up above the tree line! I noticed the driver in the video was hugging the inside lane on the way up so they must have shut down the road for this attempt? If you could hug the inside the whole way up it would be a lot less terrifying. But you can't because a speeding van will come flying down at you from around the corner.

The scariest drives for me were when the wife and I were in Ecuador. We drove through the Andes, with fog and rain and sleet, with mudslides and broken/cracked pavement, and that was a pretty scary experience for us. In hindsight, it wasn't too bad, but during the drive, oof, we were both a mess. Then you see the trucks barreling around the turns going twice your speed and freak out.

The worst was when there was a mudslide at a 90-degree turn--blocking both ways. The local authorities pushed some mud out to the very inside corner of the turn so that cars (and the cows walking with that farmer, ha!) could drive by one at a time. Through mud. In rain. With a thousand or so foot drop. Our tires were within inches of the dropoff. Something I'd prefer not to relive.

It's just something I haven't really shot before, so it's something new to experience!

I've never been there, so I would probably take a short-to-mid-range zoom for the building and immediate surroundings and people shots, and a longer lens for distant landscapes would be my minimum.

Well I decided to take my 20 and 70-200. Love the 20 too much.

I made it back everyone!

It was amazing experience. It was like 54f, no wind and great visibility. Super rare day every one was saying.

I spent most of the day there haha. Left when the auto road closed.

The 20mm was a great choice. Though, I ended up using the 70-200 most of the time.

I got about 700 photos to go through...ugh.

The crappy part about being a photographer is everyone wants you to take their picture haha.

I had a blast, can't wait to go back.

I actually feel flattered when someone asks. Sometimes I ask when I see someone trying to grab a selfie. I usually give them excellence, such as when I was at the Grand Canyon and three girls wanted their photo. I gave them a composition that they would not have thought of on their own. I only wish I could have seen their faces when they uploaded it.
