A thread for the rarest animal you have ever seen. Mine are 2 photos (not brilliant sadly) of Atractus sanctaemartae from Santa Marta in Colombia, a place with lots of endemics

Thank you both, it was pure luck, although saying that in that part of Colombia there are so many endemics it would not have been that difficult to photograph.

was in a cave in the carribean sea trying to get a shot of a rare multi-legged worm about 20 feet long (like a giant centipede) when a foreign (no English) diver put her light on it and it ran off. apparently, she did not understand the pre-dive instructions not do so. ugh. no one had yet identified it.
regarding one that did not get away, i just posted a pic of the only wild turkey i've seen in a wild turkey thread here. i stopped the car in the road and got a couple shots before he ran off: The turkey knew i had only a camera to shoot; was weery but wasn't 'skeered'!
