I like this shot, but there are a couple of things that might have improved it.
I would have got down lower and had the entire tree above the horizon. I think the photo would have been more dramatic.
Yes, you would have lost some of the mountains perhaps, but you can always frame a different shot.
I also think the image lacks contrast - the lighting seems a bit flat.

Nice shot though
