Battle of the #1s. Both Arkansas and Arizona State are ranked #1 in one or another of the major college baseball polls as of this week. Arkansas won last night 7-3 in the first game of a 2 game midweek series.

Shot with my XSi and EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS manually focused on the batter's box.

Exposure Time 0.0025s (1/400)
Aperture f/5.6
ISO 1600
Focal Length 250mm (400mm in 35mm)

They are all pretty decent. I like number 7 the best though... mainly because everything in the frame is frozen... it really is a moment frozen in time

I think the other reason I really like it though is because you can really see the batter's expression on his face. Suggestions for more photos like that would be to get down closer to field level so you are looking right into the faces of the players. Also, photos of pitchers are always great for facial expressions as you can imagine you'd probably screw up your face seven ways to sunday if you were throwing a ball at 90+ mph

I've got some of the pitchers also that I need to sort through. Been busy with work and helping build a shop building the last few days.
