My name is Lori. In my 20s (I'm now 54), Ibought a Pentax K1000. I had a 50mmlens, a 2x teleconverter, a lens hood, flash, cable release, some filters, and Iread photography books. I liked many of mypictures, but I didnt really know what I was doing. I loved that camera, though! 
I still have it, but tired of film costs. A few digitalpoint-and-shoots later, I now have a Canon T3i and two kit lenses that came with the camera. Im considering a 50mm prime lens, but Imdoing research first. Does anyone have any suggestions? My lenses are below. I know I probably have the 50mm covered there, but my kit lenses don't seem to have much f-stop range. I do need to figure out where those lenses are sharpest, however. (I read about doing that on here!) I love to take pictures of pretty much anything. I just want to get better at photography. So far, my photoshave been awful with the T3i! I was quite distresseduntil I found this forum! Ive learnedso much already that I can work on.
The problem is that I won't have much time to take pictures for a few months. Im a 54-year-old college student! :study: I transferred my one year of college creditsfrom long ago, and I will now graduate with an Associate of Arts degree thisspring. Sometime next year, my daughter and I hope to take a photography class.
I used to play games on my iPhone when taking breaks, but now I cantwait to read this forum. I love all the photos from around the world, and the critiques, and the discussions!
Sorry so long, but thanks to those of you who take an enormous amountof time to help the rest of us learn the art of photography. Eventually, I hope to post some photos. But for now, Ill just be absorbing all the goodadvice.
