For those of you who use video mode on the Rebel T2i, has anyone figured out how to enable 30fps in standard def mode (640x480). Usually I would shoot at 60fps, but in low-light setups, I've definitely been wishing for 30fps. I ended up having to switch to HD because it has a 30fps option. Any suggestions?

Can't be done unless you use the third-party Magic Lantern firmware. Canon does not support 30fps at SD or 720p.

Thanks for the response! I've heard people mention the Magic Lantern firmware, but I'm a little apprehensive about changing over to 3rd party firmware. Has anyone else here done this on their rebel t2i yet?

I have Magic Lantern loaded on one of my SD cards and I've used it a few times for some shoots. It's got some really great features, but it can also be a little unreliable. I did have it freeze my camera once during a shoot, but turning off the camera and turning it back on with a different SD card worked to get it back up and running.

At the moment, it's not worth using for any of my commercial video shoots where the schedule is critical, but I'd use it again for my personal projects.

How would I do this in Magic Lantern? What settings do I need to change?
Thanks!
Evan

I've used the Magic Lantern firmware on the 5D II and it worked fine. It doesn't overwrite your current firmware, it's loaded from the memory card and runs off the memory card. All you need to do is pull the battery and your firmware is reset. At least that's how it is on the 5D.

I have Magic Lantern installed already, I was just wondering where the framerate settings could be found.

So... anyone know how I can get 720p30 with the Magic Lantern firmware?!?
