Model could be ok, but the photographer blundered completely this time...
OP, learn about lightning, composition, posing of model, etc.. This looks like a bad joke at best.

I think the model is probably fine, but the direction on the lighting is pretty unusual. Only in Horror movies do you see subjects lit from underneath, and i'm not sure if you were trying to go for that monster lighting in these.

If you're just starting out with flash, which I think it's obvious you are, start off with one light. Shoot it through a softbox/umbrella, from above at whatever angle, not directly eye level from the side, and not from the bottom either.

The background is full of distracting wrinkles and stripes, and in #4, is not level. The background should be extremely out-of-focus and/or overexposed to lose all undesirable detail.

I agree; agree;agree;disagree. The model has good potential. Killer tats, killer body, beautiful hair, cute. It's the photography, the set, and the bad,harsh lighting that's killing these.

Here are some things you might try:

• Diffuse one or more of the light sources by bouncing it off the ceiling (or a photo umbrella)
• Experiment with the lights at various angles.
• Have your model move farther from the background (4-8 feet for example)
• Find a background that's not so busy

You may also want to try outdoor shooting for some other lighting and background options.

Despite some distracting problems, you are doing some things right that you can continue doing:

• Experiment with various crops
• Have the model change outfits at least once

Hope you will continue to try and to post. You may find some of the comments you receive to be constructive.

P.S.: Don't get discouraged on the rude stuff, believe me no one here picked up a camera and all was well. Shoot her again and get away from the trashy stuff , work on the lighting and posing, but if this is what she wanted oh well.

If you didn't shoot from beneath her the whole time... and didn't light from beneath her the whole time, they would have been improved immensely. They'd still need work AFTER that... but that would have at least brought you closer to the realm of acceptable.

Like everyone has said... learn about lighting. And then go from there.

these are bad. what did you do? nvm, i dont want to know. i feel bad for her if she paid you. These would make her a laughing stock if she was trying to get agency work. such a shame to make a good looking woman look this bad.
