Some recent work:

All shot with Canon 1Ds Mk III, 24mm T-SE Lens. 5-shot composite HDR, lots of fine-tuning, followed by the Nik Solarized treatment. Custom sharpening to optimize for size and paper type.

All these work better in a very large format. The two from L.A. were printed at 120x120cm (48x48 inch) here in Berlin.

I don't usually do this kind of highly stylized stuff, but I'm enjoying it.

Berlin, last week:

Los Angeles, in August. These are straight exposures, not HDRs:

I remember seeing the last two images when you posted them in colour. They work much better in B&W with the accent now on the lines and shapes.

Thanks for noticing. Yes, I agree, that's ultimately how I got here... I liked the lines, but was unhappy with the lighting and the dead colors.

I'll bet that these look great at 48x48, framed and hanging on a wall as a set.

I personally liked those LA shots in color...I'm a sucker for deep blue skies.

I like that second one better in the BW. All very nice though. Striking.
