Photos NOT OK to edit
I guess you could say I'm a beginner. I had gotten a camera 2 years ago and taking pictures of my daughter made me realize I enjoy photography and have decided that I want to be a professional. I'm looking to buy a new camera in the coming months and am looking for recommendations. I am looking at spending about $600 but am willing to go a little higher for a better camera. Something easy to use, will last a few years, have lens either with or that I can buy and reliable.

Check out the new Nikon D3100. That's the one I would get with your budget. I opted for the D7000.

I was in your position a few months ago. I bought a "factory reconditioned" Nikon D5000 and the 2 kit lenses(18-55 and 55-200) also "reconditioned" for $625. Buy a "B-square" warantee for $100 when you can and be a very happy camper.
