Red Hots Hedgecoe

I know, on a candy kick lately... Like the color coming out of this X-T2, 60 macro. 1/40s @f/13, ISO 400, hand held, spot - lock - shoot. Velvia film simulation 1:1 L.

Finding a rhythm using this camera. In my head; spot - lock - shoot while rocking. When I want to add creatively, manual focus and a rocking rhythm of spot - lock - focus peak in - focus peak out - shoot. I must look like a drunken sailor doing it but hey whatever works. Learned this from in a John Hedgecoe book in a section on macro shooting. This rhythm thing seems to help in the keeper rate.

Following your posts on Hedgecoe, I've read everything I could get my hands on but I don't recall seeing the rocking motion in anything read to date. Is there a book I've missed?

Is this similar to the focus peaking option on mine where you set your focus point, then press the shutter, allowing the camera to release the shutter only when that point comes in focus?

Great color on the red by the way. Red is always difficult for name to find that point of no return on maximum saturation.

Thanks. I will check which book it is. No, my peaking is in manual focus mode and as you rock, the focus highlights change what's in focus as you change lens distance. It works sweet because you work that way in macro normally. I will probably get the 80mm 1 to 1 macro when it comes out later this year and get a macro rail too. From a composing stand point, it takes getting used to as it zooms for a second when it acquires the highlighted focus.

@smoke665, Fuji handles red seamlessly. HUGE improvement over my DSLR. Auto WB or manual WB, it just gets it right. The velvia mode just juices it up. Provia as well but more traditional. Chrome mode is real cool too but looks more antique looking. I think the micro contrast of the macro is the icing on the cake.
