I busted out the Nikon D5100 with the 55-200mm for this shot. Just playing around with it.

This guy sat there so long that I was able to go grab my Olympus EM-5 with the 75-300 and give it a try as well:

Have only ever had a merlin in our backyard had a coopers hawk about 50 feet from our house about two weeks ago

I really like the Olympus result more than the Nikon result. Perhaps it could be optics, as the Nikon was a heavier crop from the 200mm.
