Reducing Vibration [[Motoring]]

I would like to build a few mounts, outside of the typical tank mount for my motorcycle. Curious if anyone has some good input on way to minimize the amount of vibration on the camera. Both for the health of the camera but also so that I can pull some decent time values (1 to 1/2 second should be the longest)

The camera I will be mounting is a Canon 1D MkII So it's a full sized camera.

Also anyone who want to comment on mounting positions they think may be creative POV are also welcome.
