Which is about the same as a 10mm on a crop body camera.....

If its the 5d with the full frame yeah 17mm but if its a cropped sensor I would diffidently say 10mm

That's a really good shot. This is one of the first with a lens flare that I actually think enhances the photo. Good work.

No... This one looked best with the tops bending in slightly, adding to the height perspective.. The 17-40 doesn't distort too badly on the 5D, but you can see the outside trees with a very slight bow about halfway up....

This shot was into the sun with it hidden behind the main tree... the spot where the flare is.. The flare was added at that exact spot to feel the sun peeking around the tre trunk.. If I had actually let the sun out, the entire scene would have been blown and the tree bases black...
