Anyone know what kind of surface is used for product photos like this, and where I could find one? I'm linking to the image since it isn't mine. I'm just looking for any black reflective surface that can be used in a light tent or by itself on a table top.

This is a test........ | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Plexi Glass. You can find it at your local Lowes or Home Depot.

Clear plexi, put a black cloth under it.

My guess is that the sample photo was done on opaque black plexi. Clear plexi shows a double a reflection, off the top and bottom surface of the sheet.

That surface looks to be slightly textured. You can get shiny black art board with a similar texture, or use black Formica or Melamine wiped with oil. There, I gave away a secret.

Best,
Helen

I don't see the texture, but Helen made me think of a polished black granite countertop too. Might be interesting... Hmmmmm.... My mom's counters are black granite. Might have to go play with them and see if the combination of the texture and the polish could give me some neat effects... I want to do a bunch of wine and coffee shots for my kitchen...
Hey! Thanks! lol!
