Removing Tripod Collar?

Hey guys,

I just got a Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 lens today for my D50...

My question is...how do I remove the tripod collar? I couldn't find anything online about it...

Why, the foot easliy slides off by unscrewing the thumb screw and depressing.........................oh, Sigma. Nevermind.

you twist the knob to the unlock position, then you can pull the spring loaded knob up and it will open.
