I got this nice shot of my son with an a6400 and a Sigma 23mm f/1.4 prime. The light was not great, and I am still very happy with the photo. I like this focal length a lot for indoor family pictures.
I am thinking maybe I should get a 35mm lens for my A7IV. I am told I can get another f-stop with a Sony 35mm 1.4 GM. The a6400 is handy, but I don't really need low weight or size when I'm in my own house, and I would like any advantage I can get.
I tried a Sigma 17-70mm Art full-frame lens in similar light at 2.8, and I had to push the speed and ISO considerably to get anywhere. I don't know if I can get past the noise with the zoom and whatever software I use later.
Good choice?
