resizing to fit the forum

I tried to post some photos for c+c, but they are too large. I've read on these forums to shoot RAW, but don't know how to change it from there, any help?

you can only post jpegs.
resize them to 1000 on long side

Use the software that came with the camera. I can't image it 1. not being able to convert the raw files and 2. resize jpegs for output.
