results when using different cameras with identical settings of the same subject?

I was wondering what kind of results you get when using a few DSLR's ranging from an entry level model to a pro model. I currently have a D300s and my wife uses a D7000. I know on these two cameras I can tell a difference in the picture but it doesn't mean one or the other is better to me, they just look a little different. Curious if anyone else has owned two different models and tried taking identical shots with the same camera settings and what your thoughts are? Thanks.

Biggist difference is full frame vs crop sensor.

Different cameras, different lenses...maybe different processing. It would actually be pretty hard to get 'exactly' the same results with two different set ups.

In addition to different image sensors and other electronics, the NEF files the D300s makes are different from the NEF files the D7000 makes.

That's part of the reason why many Raw converter applications have Camera Profiles.

Plus, the D300s is a prosumer grade cameea, while the D7000 is an entry-level grade camera.

Thought NPS covered the D300s? That'd make it a pro cam according to the manufacturer... I considered the D7000 prosumer as it has many functions of the D300s but isn't covered by NPS. D3200/D5100 = Entry Level.

Well, they'll accept the D7000 but only as a back up body.

What I don't get is, why does the D7000 win when compared to the D300s on the snapshot website? I have often wondered what I was missing there. To be honest I used the site in purchasing my D7000 because it scored so much higher over other cameras.
