What's new

Reuter's setup for the royal wedding (Caution, drool cup might be necessary)

Looks like about $60,000 worth of camera gear there.

Obviously, they were not planning on being close to the action.

I love the tiny little GoCam that's there in the center. Those things look fun...I was tempted to buy one last week when I visited my photo dealer's big walk-in store.

The go-pro is a lot of fun! They take a hell beating too. I've had mine mounted every where I can think of on an airplane (inside & out). It's seen bugs, rain, ice, dust, wind (obviously), +6 -4 Gs and it keeps on going! I'm on my 4th case though....

Holy Hell! I would die for 1/10 of that equipment.

The bodies alone are probably worth that much.

If you get close enough to use the flashes, there's going to be a Bobby's palm print on your lens.

I just got a photog boner.

I think this just about sums it up...

What I find most interesting (or curious, I guess) is that photojournalists never seem to use body or lens caps...

With the exception of one body, everything in that shot is cap-less on both ends... (From what I can see, anyway.)

I'd assume they took the lenses off the bodies just for that shot. 99% chance that they never leave the bodies during the ceremony or have a lens cap on that might slow them down.

I doubt they did it just for the shot. That gear is probably cap-less 24/7. I personally don't get it, but from everything I've seen (not just this) photojournalists don't use caps, at all. Bodies, lenses - they all go in the bag 'naked'.

edit
That shot is obviously on a hotel bed - they most likely just pulled everything out of the bag/case and threw it on the bed, as is.

If I had all that it would be allowed to sleep in the bed and I would be on the floor!
