Rice Terraces

Hi guys! These are the famous rice terraces in the Philippines, which were built around a thousand years ago by our ancestors using only simple machines. The last one in particular is a UNESCO Heritage Site, distinguished for its amphitheater like construction.

I'm quite unsure of my composition in #1, though I don't know what specifically is wrong. I like the play of shadows though.

Very nice, though I do prefer the colour to 5th b&w. I know what you mean about the first and I can't put my finger on it either, though it's such a remarkable image that I think you get away with it. Maybe someone else with a bit more knowledge can see it.

The third image is awesome, it looks like a model. What a scale and this one has really good balance being framed by the darks at the top and bottom.

I think you need to go back at different times of the day. I see such potential here ... but you missed that magical capture. These are fine ... but, for me, they are not exceptional. Your images are okay, they have a certain level of interest ... but they're not grabbing me by the back of the neck saying "Look at ME!". I see that type of exceptional potential in this location.

Wonderful images! I think #1 would benefit from having the shadows "lightened" considerably.

I was really praying for this, that clouds will cover the sun such that only the village is lit. I was really happy when it actually happened.
