The message here is to show that the first photo feels open and the other one feels closed. I Think that it depends on the fact that we "read" images the same way we read text. That is, from left to right. So, the second one feels closed or blocked because of the building.
About the dark feeling: I wanted it that way.
About out-of-focus, generally: You have to click on the images to see them in full resolution.

I'd indeed viewed all your photos in full resolution on '' imgbb "and that's why I notice that (almost) all of your photos on the forum are out of focus, hence my comment.
This photo is too dark and it has very little to do with "dark feeling" but everyone his own opinion, as they say.
