Thats a dog collar right? I think you should of gotten closer and theres too much dead space on the right and bottom.

Im sorry your dog died :(

Yeah it's a dog collar. I can always crop some more if that would be helpful.

Agreed, your crop does look better. What do you guys think of the lighting/exposure levels? I have several shots, some which I think are better exposed but I was going for a "darker" feel, which is why I chose this exposure as well as the black and white. I was also having problems with the top tag getting blown out from the flash since it's still new and shiny.

I think it's very emotional... I really like it. I can see why you had a problem with the top tag, but that also what makes it more real. And I'm really sorry for the loss!

Thats a good idea, I like the crop. Good way to remember him.

what color is the background? I'd like to see something that helps me see the edge of the collar in black and white.

The background is black, and the collar is actually red.

Did u buy a black backgroud or did you pp? I like that look and dont know how everyone gets that look. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

I've done similar pics using a black BG.

In an attempt not to hijack this thread (and out of respect) here is a link... I picket up the sheet at a local fabric store.

Haha all I did was throw a black t shirt on top of a small dresser and put the collar on top.
