This is an eye-catching group of trees! I like it, the sky still has some detail, though it probably didn't lend itself well to the (original?) colour version of this photo. Yet in black and white it works well. As does the bit of reflection.

It is a beautiful image, I would prefer to see more of the water on the right, where some of the branches tips are cut off.

I think you're cropped in too close. I assume there's lots of nice river and scenery behind the trees -- I would have preferred not to see them as the central element

There were a lot of trash trees on either side. I cropped in tighter to try to bring the focus to the most foreground trees, yet allow a viewer to at least get a glimpse of the environ where they were situated. I'm going up there in a boat soon and will find a better compositional study. I love these gnarly old trees.

Probably more to the SEP2 effect than sharpening as I do very little when I use my 70-200 2.8. I'll go back and take a look at that step of the processing. Good call.
