I think throwing the girl more out of focus is an option to... or taking one of the girl in focus and one of the rose in focus and placing side by side.

Also would be kind of fun to re situate her hands to be "holding" the stem.. obviously they would be behind the stem still but I think it would be fun looking.

I would set up a tripod and get everything how you want it and shoot. one ini focus of the rose and one in focus of the background and them put them together in photoshop. I'm sure there is an easier way but this is just my two cents here.n

Well you did that just fine.The rose looks like 3D without wearing the ridiculous 3D glasses.

I think this done outdoors would much better suit your vision for the shot. I have seen this on pinterest too I think. Fun idea!

it's from pintrest and google images and flickr and tumblr. No matter where you saw it IMO the main thing would be to borrow that Idea and make it your own by changing things around. Like I've seen it in a rom with light coming thru a window. try shooting it in a garden of roses or something like that. Just my opinion.
