Rose picture (selective coloring)

The first picture ever edited on my new digital camera. I bought a Rebel XT, just got it Friday, this was in a group of the "run around the backyard and take as many pictures as you can before the battery dies" pictures. This was a rose in my neighbors side yard.

I learned how to use photoshop today also for a few fun new things. I don't always like selective coloring, but I don't think this is too bad.

I think this image is a little out of focus, but other than that, what do you think?

It does stand out from the background, but then it's not compatible with it.

Ya, it's a bit out of focues...but that's ok. I think you may have gotten too close. Your lens can't focus that close.

Thanks, that makes sense. I'll have to remember that for future shots.. It's a pretty junky lens too, looked up some reviews on it. But I already had it so it'll work good enough for now.
