ruby-crowned kinglet

got this little kinglet taking a breather along the edge of a thicket at a local park on Saturday... would have gotten closer shots, and not had to crop as much, but i had the lens pulled back to 450mm to help keep the little pinball in the viewfinder...

Nice shots. But the $$$ shot with those little suckers is when you catch them flashing that red topnot!

thanks... i agree, but its hard to get them displaying. they have to be quite agitated or excited to raise the crown... and of course, this one could have been a female...
