running kid - C&C please

I was walking in the park and saw this kid running on a reflective shiny blacktop road and I thought it was a good opportunity for silhouette.

I am not happy with B&W conversion though - how do I keep it contrast and oversharpened, but preserve good tones, or am I too picky?

Oh and the sun and the lens flare are added in PS on first shot:
