Rural boating - a series

[Nidhi]

A ride in a battered, wooden boat, the only way of transportation for people of two remote villages in Chhattisgarh, India separated by streams of a river.

Waiting for passengers, the more the better.

Everyone and everything is welcome.

Finally, the boat sails off slowly.

Getting off is as easy as getting on.

New passengers and their belongings come aboard.

Aided by soothing breeze, the boat sails off again.

Getting wet is not everyone's delight.

Almost everyone can use a hand. The boatman is no exception.

The journey continues.
