RUST

Other than your feedback, apparently, lol

That response is interesting.
My experience until this moment were that people from NC were actually courteous and not rude.
- and actually made sense most of the time.
Perhaps you could come out from behind your ego.

And perhaps you could offer some useful c&c in a post instead of the useless aristocratic crap you offered

Get free of the idea that sharpness and depth of field and color are the only important points in making a picture.
It is not technical issues that make this unremarkable.
Everyone has seen this same rusted out crap a million times and you aren't adding anything that makes any different or makes it stand out from the other 999,999.

Well, some new plugs definitely, and a timing belt. Don't worry about T-Cut at this stage :)

soo.....before this goes any farther and requires intervention consisting of more more than just a gentle warning... steady on there folks, steady on.

Firstly, Lews critique, in my opinion, was entirely accurate, and in no way insulting to you or your work.
secondly, there's nothing in the TPF rules that say you have to agree with critique given, or even like it...but the rules do say that you need to respond with some monicker of civility when people take time out of their day to look at your picture and comment on it.

from a technical standpoint, as Lew pointed out, this picture is fine. Exposure, color, and WB are all good. However, it is simply a tightly cropped shot of a rusted car, center frame, which does little to nothing to really inspire the viewers to want to see more. A wider shot showing more of the environment the car is in, or a closer shot showing a specific part of the car in detail might have made for a more interesting photo.

Lew (The_Traveler) is one of the forums long time street photographers (which this shot might easily be categorized) and is usually very willing to offer advice on shooting and post processing techniques to those who are interested in learning. Provided of course, you don't insult him for giving an honest and civil opinion of your work.

you are welcome to your opinion. and interventions are my job here.
Speaking of, you have used up your last "bs intervention", which is not a joke btw.
neither is asking people to be civil.

carry on my wayward son. they'll be peace when you are done.

I think you should step back on this angle and highlight the car and soft focus and desaturate the background. As is, this image is pretty been there.

What he said. I'm too lazy to find a different way to type it.

As for this thread... I'll be a bit too honest, but I didn't think Lew's initial comments were that horrible. A few months ago, people said the same thing to me, but instead of jump on them, I decided to take a moment and look through the viewfinder a little longer before snapping a picture off, thinking about what people had said: Is this unique? Is this what I want? Will this image work for me? A good way to force yourself to do that is to grab a film camera, particularly one that requires external metering. After all this, am I any better? Well, sure, I understand more about this and have created some much better images because of it, but I still create a ton of unusable images or ones that just don't quite cut it. Eventually, it'll click, I hope.

thx for the feedback

his initial comments was not horrible, nor were mine, but when he insisted on continuing the conversation by commenting on people in NC i felt it was time to give some back:D
