saw this when i was out for a drive in between the rain. i dont usually like to do hdr but....

Love it! These types of images really lend themselves well to HDR. Too bad the front is in so much shade though, a little fill flash would have made that really pop.

with enough exposure, or the right exposures you should have detail in that shade area.

Other than the clouds it does not look like an HDR. I guess that could be a good thing or bad thing depending on how you look at it.

Purpose of HDR is get more detail in and I think it lacks that in the shadows. I could see this being a great candidate with some different processing however that is with the style of HDR that I like. For those that do not like HDR that this is probably as perfect as you will get to looking like a single exposure non tone-mapped image.

I personally like to take pictures like this and push those textures in the rusty metal.

At least you did something you do not normally do.

yeah i dont like the "over cooked" images. they look too fake. i tried to do something a little more subtle... i agree a fill in flash would have brightened up the grill a little bit. ill try to tweek the processing a little more...
