I think you can find a couple lovely crops in that image. The blown whites are distracting to me.

I am partly agreeing with you. I was hoping you see the white as blank canvas.

cant seem to find a good crop bitter. I need to go back and shoot it again. I dont want to crop it too much.

What I want to say, pretty much comes from my shooting style I guess, and I hesitate to suggest it. But from what I have seen recently is that you tend to not get "in there" up close and personal. In the subject above, what is the really interesting part? To my eyes, crop vertically the leaves on the right side and eliminate the white, to create a rather moody colored darker abstract image.

But again, that's what I see. I don't see the white as being important or contributing much of anything to the image or composition.

Well I only had my 24-70 and the tree was tall. I'll bring my 70-200 next time.
