Sales tax FREE day in Ma. Get some gear..

I want to head up to Hunts Photo in Hanover today. Anyone else going to take advantage of No sales tax today?
it will probably be crowded but need some items and I do prefer to get it at a shop over internet. I have never been to this shop as am new here.

Our tax free weekend was last week, and I didn't leave the house. I imagine it is crazy out there. I didn't know camera gear was tax free though...that may have changed things Hope you get some good stuff.

I never bother with tax holidays. I generally can find better deals through other avenues that net me more savings.

Yes, I will check prices before I go but if it's only a couple of bucks compared to Internet, will try the local guy.

I live in Oregon. We have no sales tax on ANYTHING. At all. It really helps us, since Washington and California have pretty substantial sales taxes. Out of state buyers pay no tax here either.

As I'm sure you're aware; some states have imposed sales tax on nearly everything. Once a year, on a weekend just before the start of the school year, our state "forgives" the sales tax on certain items of clothing that children typically need for school. The sales tax rate here is around 7%, so people figure on saving around 7%.

Note: at other times of the year, we can find the same items on sale for anywhere from 25% to 50% or more off the regular retail price, yet people think the politicians are so wonderful for getting a law enacted to give the 7% savings.

I went and had my list. The guy was very nice but not a salesman. I was looking for Manfrotto tripod, head, camera bag, strap and a holder for my GND. I don't want to tape it to my lens and can't always hold it in from of lens.
he ordered me a holder and will be in in a week. I hope it's right because he had to ask someone a few times.
Left empty handed basically. Ordered Manfrotto 055 cx from B & H, here on Wed.

We had our "sales tax holiday" here a couple of weekends ago. I always look forward to it--because it's a weekend when I make it a point to stay as far away from any retail store as humanly possible, so while the hordes shop, I go out in the woods somewhere and take pictures.

I detest crowds. Really, REALLY hate them. I would HAPPILY pay the sales tax to NOT have to deal with twice, or three times, as many people as usual in the store. Maybe even more than that, since it's also usually just before school starts back.
