What's new

Sandhills and Redtail.

Super, yeah the sandhills are flying in formation around here too, they are all coming in getting ready for the journey. Talked to a friend last night and there are over 1000 staged a few miles from my home. I live near the migration site. I need to get over there this weekend if I can get the chance. There should be over 2000 by this weekend. Thats all you could here the other day, sandhills gawking in flight from noon till sundown.
I took some really bad shots of a formation way up there the other day.

Thanks.

They are quite a sight when you get a flock together.

Thank you.

Nice set. I've never seen the long-body, double-wing version before.
That's a special hybrid we have. Straight from the feeding grounds of the Chalk river nuclear power plant. :allteeth:

But don't worry we only cook them for a little while then we cool them back down....like today.
