Satellite images of Brisbane floods

[Garbz]

Some of you may have heard about the floods that are affecting eastern Australia. Places like Ipswich received a 20m rise in river level, and the Brisbane river rose to 5m, which doesn't sound like much till you realise how much of this city is actually lying at the same level as the river.

Our local mapping provider has done a pass over most of the river (it missed the river mouth where all the debris ended up though):

PhotoMaps by NearMap. Type in "Brisbane" in the search in the top left. Of interest is not the CBD but rather to the south.

What the map doesn't show is the devastation in Toowoomba and Goodna (east of Ipswich). Unfortunately current images aren't available of those towns / suburbs, but there wouldn't be anything left to see anyway.
