What's new

SB600

EXIF = EXposure InFormation.

Depending on your browser, you can right click a picture and get properties. Or if your browser doesn't have an EXIF reader, you can install a plug-in like Opanda Exif viewer : Opanda IExif - Professional EXIF / GPS / IPTC Viewer & Editor in Windows, IE & Firefox.

Learning to use the flash is like learning to play the piano. It take a little practice.

I downloaded this--but nothing different pops up when I right click your photos?? Do I have to do somethign else also?

I was impressed the first time I used my sb600. It transformed my indoor pictures.

Well, on my system (Windows 7 + Internet Explorer), after download, I had to install the Opanda add-on (it appears in my control panel listing of installed programs), and once installed, there is a insertion in the right-click menu that says "View EXIF/..." when you point to a photo.

It's been a while since I've installed Opanda on my system, so I don't remember the exact sequence, but I am sure I had to go through an installation process before it worked.

I got and SB-600 for Christmas. Took a bit of fiddling to set it up, it's awesome.

Yeah, people on the forum love to help others learn, that's mostly why we all waste hours upon hours of our lives on here!

If your "super new to photography, then are you sure it's the best idea to be shooting "seniors and weddings?" I'm not trying to be a jerk here, just pointing something out.

As far as using the flash goes, bounce is key. But remember if the walls are colored, the flash will pick up the color of the wall.

Look into accesories like the lumiquest 80-20 and pocket bounce, to soften the light and get better results from your flash.

And once you learn the basics of flash exposure and get comfortable using it on camera, get some wireless triggers and try it off camera.
