sekonic L-358 sync cord help

when i connect the sync cord to my meter and flash it only fires once than i have to pull the cord out and connect it again to fire only once again, any suggestions

You should not have to re-attach the cord to get the flash to fire. You should be able to press the button on the meter to have the flash fire each time you press it for testing.
