Does anyone have any referals for any particular microstock sites for selling stock photos? I've been googling them and there are so many that it is somewhat overwhelming.

Of course, you don't sell your photos to microstock agencies.

You hope they will accept your photos and add them to what they offer buyers. People then buy a use license from the microstock agency and you get a cut of the use license price.

Microstock sucks, because they do RF licensing.(royalty free)

Persue the major stock houses: Getty, Corbis, Alamy because they do RM licensing(rights managed).

A good read by Zack Arias about the micro stock industry. It's less bitching and more informative than most random rants you'll find on photography blogs.

That link tried to install a virus.... Though, after killing the process with task manager and going back, it worked fine.

With that being said... thanks for the link. Great read... at least the first few pages. I stopped reading after I realized that I don't want anything to do with microstock photography.

Really? WTF.

Yeah, it went to the page you linked for about 2 seconds, then automatically redirected me to a "Virus Scanner" website, it showed my "drives" being scanned and it miraculously found 6 viruses on my C: as well as viruses on other drives that don't even exist. It then prompted me to click a link to install software.

I launched my task manager and killed all of my IE process, then came back here and clicked on the link again and it worked fine.

Hmmmm...didn't do that for me. Zack is a professional, so I know it's not something that would be intentional.

I have some images on stock photography websites...
I've made about $2.30 cents over the span of a year.
LOL!

As much time and effort it takes to submit and then have the images approved, so not worth it.

I have a friend who works for istockphoto.com and she is one of the people that approves images, she says it is who you know more then your photo... lovely.
