Honestly, they all look a little OOF to me but I would agree that #3 is the best of them all. I would like to see it a little tighter cropped from you left, where just her and the tracks showing.

what specifically looks OOF? her face?or her entire body? the tracks? the entire picture......just for reference going forward......I am just not sure I am seeing it so want to make sure I can improve

It may not be OOF as much as a softness to her face. (My contacts could be effecting this too). I wasn't worried about the rest of the picture, if it was OOF or soft, to me that would be fine.

I don't think it is your contacts ronlane.. I also see the whole images as being kinda soft or something. #1 seems the sharpest to me. I like #3 a lot too, but something is slightly awkward about her pose to me? I would really like #4, except that one seems the softest of all.

Personally, I like #1 the best out of all of them, but I will agree with everyone that they are just a tad bit OOF (soft), I'm also not sure if that's the look you were going for or not. Work on getting the front eye tack sharp and you'll have some killer images

Sorry but can I ask what you mean specifically about the front eye tack sharp? ie: how I can make sure I am doing this

I don't think they're out of focus. You've done the "move the black point up" or maybe the "add a translucent white layer" business to make them look dreamy/misty, and that lowers acutance which creates an illusion of softness.

These look pretty good to me!

The first one is shot a little low, which emphasizes her rather strong chin perhaps more than you'd like (see #3 for a good way to DE emphasize it) and you've cropped/framed #1 and #3 right below the boobs, which emphasizes them a bit (which might or might not be a good thing from her point of view!)

#2 is wonderful, the pose de-emphasizes her middle, which is probably not a feature of her body that she loves. #3 would be wonderful if it didn't have that damned belt drawing attention to the aforementioned middle. The poor girl needs to learn how to dress herself better, she's quite lovely, but has no notion of how to flatter herself.

I would give #2 the same post-processing you gave to #1 and see if I liked it.

Agreed. All to often on here I see ladies wear unflattering clothing or clothing that doesn't fit the location. In this case you hit the nail on the head.

The posing on these is one thing holding these back. I'll just run through the ways the photographer did not flatter the subject. #1....horizontal framing and a crop right through the bust...not a good way to crop a shot.

#2...the "I have to take a pee" crouch...not a very good pose, and shot from very far away, with a strongly attention-seeking background and Dutch tilt. Not a good shot.

#3...looks out of focus. The DOF band appears to begin losing sharpness right about where she is placed, and the absolute lowest foreground area looks to be the very-sharpest area of an otherwise mostly OOF shot. BUT, the DOF and focus issue is minor, compared against the linebacker shoulders you have given her, by placing her 100% square-shouldered to the camera. Also, she is posed in a double flat-footed posture. As we can mostly see from shot #1, she has an attractive bust, and with a dynamic, shapely body posture directed by you, and angled toward the camera, she would look lovely. But this pose is really,really hurting her appearance.

#4...again, linebacker shoulders, squared up to the camera...and a horizontal composition with a ton of space around her.

I can not agree with amolitor's endorsement where he stated, "These look pretty good to me!" I disagree very much. These show a decent-looking young woman photographed by a person without much knowledge of posing strategies or compositional techniques. I hate to seem like I am "ripping on your pictures", but I would have to say, you have done this girl no favors.

Okay so I have switched my settings to OK to edit......please feel free to teach me a few things on cropping by going ahead and cropping the first image to your standards so that I may see what this picture should look like if cropping is one of many issues that you see. Again you may teach me how to crop if you would like to crop the fourth as well......other than that I can appreciate you do not like either the style, compositional techniques......well let's just be nice and say you don't really like anything about my photos! AND you are dealing with someone who would like to learn, so I have no issues with the criticism.

In the newest one you posted her eyes look really good but her expression looks a little worrisome to me....I see what you where trying to do with the new pose but in my opinion it looks like you dropped her chin down too much which is making her lose too much neck- I think it would have been better to shoot a little more above her... think of the slimming effect of the all too famous camera phone myspace pose - just not to that extreme

This type of lighting, which is called broad lighting, makes her face look very fat.

First image: cannot be saved by a post-capture crop...you cropped her off right at the bustline...the camera was held horizontal on a standing girl...nobody can recover that shot from that mistake, fully. The fourth shot? A crop cannot save it...she is positioned 100% square-shouldered to the camera AND standing flat-footed...shot #4 looks like shot #3, with her arm raised...these are fundamental posing issues, not issues about "cropping" post-capture. Cropping is not the key issue: the issues are posing and framing. Both happen in the field, not at the computer. I cannot fix these shots.
