I’ve always had an issue with cleaning my camera sensor while I’m in the field. Over the last two years I’ve been working with engineers to help design something that would make me more comfortable when I’m on a job and keep my camera sensor cleaner longer between professional cleanings. The first designs simply could not deliver the air blast that was required to do a good job. However, I’m very close to having a design that can be used in the field and does not risk touching the sensor. And, after talking with a variety of other photographers and camera retailers, the current design works on almost any camera and with most existing air blasters including the Giottos Rocket Air Blaster. Two years is a long time but the design we are finalizing delivers a filtered, powerful blast of air that can easily blow away any dust on the sensor and help prevent the dust from getting oily and require a professional cleaning using swabs.
