I love the silhouette of the bird in the photo. Very pretty sky.

I like it! I'd love to see it cropped with 10% off the botom and about 25% off the right hand side though...

It's a good suggestion, but I didn't like that crop all that much. 25% off the right cuts into the Big Dipper and I was shooting for the expanse rather than necessarily just the Heron, though he was the impetus for the shot.

I love the colors you can get with late evening shots like this. I wouldn't worry about cropping out the big dipper. It is too faint to see clearly and it is not the subject of your shot anyways. I think it would have been better with a much more radical crop. This file is too grainy but you might get better results with the original (?).
