separating a tif

does anyone know how to separate a tif?

i just got back the roll of film i shot last week, just to test if the cameras both worked.

i scanned in some of the pics. instead of using jpg or bmp, i chose tif, for a little better quality. but my scanner (an hp photosmart) turned the 4 images into ONE tif file..

it's odd. when i view the tif with windows photo viewer, it shows me all 4 pictures contained within the single file.

but, when i open in corel photo paint, it shows me the first image only...

i've never seen this before.

in my business (screen printing) i typically work with vector graphics instead of raster images. so instead of photo shop i have corel draw. but it comes with photo paint bundled, that is SUPPOSED to do the same things as photo shop.. but i am aware it doesn't..

anyway, i have never seen a tif file, in all my years, that had multiple files bundled...

layers i've seen.
pages i've seen.

but this.. never...


anyone know how the heck i can separate these?

i COULD scan again... but that danged thing takes 87.4 hours per scan.

Multi-page TIF files aren't that uncommon. Not an everyday occurrence but I run across them from time to time.

There are numerous utilities that will allow you to save individual pages. If you Google "multi-page tiff editor" you'll get a lot of hits. Just get the one that looks the best and download a demo. You'll probably only use it this one time.

no one was answering earlier so i went to google.

ended up downloading irfanview. allowed me to view each page and save them individually.

odd that neither photo paint, paintshop pro, nor corel draw would allow me to see the additional pages.

irfanview is free, and was quick. so i'll be hanging onto it, since apparently my scanner likes to do this with multiple images.
