I'll get low and close with birds ....... not gators.

I find birds v rarely let me get that close, but I have managed it with a Gator (or possibly a Croc hard to be sure when it was ~10 years ago). Only a baby & it was behind a suitable layer of glass, but I definitely managed both low (water level) & close (~1.5 foot).
